Charity domain-auction for Haiti aid |

On Tuesday January 12:th Haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world was hit by a devastating earthquake. Millions of people have been affected and nearly 200 000 have died.  The auction has ended and 73 domains where sold resulting in 9922 EUR in sales! In total the sum donated to Unicef equals around 11 000 EUR. This sum is enough for 170 311 pcs. sugar-salt solution or 998 512 water purification tablets or water kits to provide over 1000 families with pure water! A big thank you to everyone who supported this event and made it possible. On the initiative and idea of Internetsweden, MissDomain is arranging a charity auction for the victims on Haiti. All proceeds on sale of the domains, will be donated in full for aid to Haiti through UNICEF. The auctions will last for 7 days starting from Friday, February 5th 12:00 with a starting bid of at least €20. Domains donated so far can be viewed in the list below. We are grateful for your domain name contributions. If you would like to support this cause, please email haiti@missdomain.com before February 4:th. MissDomain will also donate all earnings on additional promotion and escrow fees during that week. Note that transfer of ownership of .NU-domains will be free of charge due to Nunames sponsoring this initiative. Many thanks! UNICEF is on the ground in Haiti and distributing water purification tablets, tarpaulins, tents, blankets, water containers, school-in-a-box, etc. €10 EUR is enough for 912 water purification tablets and 75 bags of rehydration.
